How Fire Sprinkler System Work?

Fire is an ultimate nightmare for those who run a store or warehouse. Just imagine your building is stocked with furniture and other flammable items and a fire breaks out at night when no one is around. No need to worry we are here with a fire- fighting system which can react the moment trouble strikes. It has a sounding alarm and an automated sprinkler system to put out a fire as quickly as possible. Fire sprinklers are not for business use only they are also worth having in homes. This is one of the best fire protection systems which have protected life and property for over 100 years.

A fire sprinkler system seems to be a simple system made up of pipes with sprinkler head that deliver water to a fire. But it is a complex system that is carefully designed, installed and tested. An automatic fire sprinkler system works when high heat triggers the sprinkler system. The air above the sprinkler heats rapidly when a flame ignites. When this hot air reaches a sprinkler’s head, it triggers a chain reaction. The sprinkler is filled with a glycerin-based liquid expands when it comes in contact with the hot air and the sprinkler head activates. A fire sprinkler system is ready to install after the designing process.

Fire system installation process is quite simple and it is done by the pipe fitters at the construction site. There is a need of commercial sprinkler system in commercial buildings as a fire could seriously injure or kill employees or customers, damage property, destroy paper records. A fire sprinkler system makes your business safer. The automatic fire sprinkler system detects the fire and it is far way better than the spray that is used to extinguish the fire.

So if you are also willing to make your business safer than automatic fire sprinkler system is the right choice for you. SKG Pneumatic Inc is the one stop destination for complete range of industrial products. We are one of the leading fire fighting equipment suppliers. Types of Gate Valve and its Specifications

A gate valve is a linear motion valve that is used to start or stop the flow of the fluid in piping. There is a gate or wedge type disk which moves perpendicular to the flow which directs the flow to stop or start. In any process plant, the gate valve has the most common use and are suitable for both above-ground and underground installations. A gate valve is also known as a sluice valve. It is very easy to open it, one just have to lift the gate out of the path of the fluid. It does not require a wide surface; it fits in a very little space along the pipe axis. It requires a 360° surface contact between disk and seat to achieve proper sealing. A Gate valve is made up of certain parts that allow it to function properly. Valve’s body or shell is the most principal part of this particular valve which can connect inlet and outlet pipes in a piping system. Some other parts of a gate valve are as followed. Bonnet, Solid Wedge, Body seats, Stem, Back seat, Gland follower, Gland flange, Stem Nut, Yoke Nut, Handwheel, Hand wheel nut, Stud bolts, Nuts, Bonnet Gasket, Lubricator, Packing. All these parts allow the Gate & sluice valve to function properly.

Now let’s discuss the main types of gate valves.

1. Knife Valve

Knife gate valves contain a very high quantity of suspended liquids. It is mainly used for on – off and isolation services in systems. Knife valves are the best suitable for working in some of the harshest environment. These valves should be used for the applications which require a completely open or completely closed position.

2. Brass Gate Valve

Brass gate valves are the perfect fit for the applications where corrosion is a serious concern. It is considered as the most durable gate valve. It has a very high capacity to tolerate high temperatures as well as high pressure.

3. Slide Gate Valves

The main purpose of the slide gate valve is to shut off the flow of product from discharge points such as dry bulk storage bins, silos, conveyors, etc. It is the best choice for industrial works.

4. Non-return Valves

Non-return valve has considerable use in allowing the liquid as well as gas to flow in one direction. It is widely used in a huge variety of applications and household items.

5. Check Valves

Check Valve has a very vast use in a variety of applications. It is also used in household items. Mostly check valve has two ports. One for fluid to enter and other for the fluid to leave. Check Valves & Non-return Valve are available in a variety of sizes and cost as well.

SKG Pneumatic Inc is one of the best gate valve suppliers and industrial suppliers as well. All our products are designed by skilled and expert engineers for resilient durability.

Types of Valves in Gas and Oil Industry

In a piping system, valves play a very important role. They are the most essential components of the oil and gas industry and are used in various purposes. In upstream, midstream and downstream, valves are used for controlling the flow, protecting the equipment and refining of crude oil respectively. In this post, we shall discuss the types of valves used in the gas and oil industry.

Following are the most common types of valves used in the gas and oil industry:

  1. Control Valves:

As it is clear from the name that control valves are used to control the flow Based on the process conditions. A control valve is termed as a final control element in automatic control terminology. There are two main parts of control valve i.e. the sliding stem and the rotary action.

  2. Bellow Seal Valve:

Bellow seal valve is a kind of control valve which is used in balancing the pressure of the fluid. For pipelines of steam and flammable, explosive media, bellow seal valve is the perfect solution. By adopting the structure with bellows, it helps in avoiding the leakage of the valve stem. It is very secure and prevents the loss of fluids. It has a very long operating life with minimum operating cost. The structure of bellow seal valve is durable which helps in preventing leakage.

  3. Butterfly Valves:

Butterfly valve is used to stop, regulate and start the flow. It has a very vast use in oil and gas industry. It is a quarter- turn rotary motion valve which means that rotating the handle of the valve at 90° can completely close or start it.

  4. Cryogenic Valves:

Cryogenic valves are used in very cold applications. Most oil and gas industries use cryogenic temperature range starting at -238° F i.e. -150° . Cryogenic valve has a very keen ability to function in both low (-320° F) as well as high (750 psi) temperature.

  5. Gate Valves:

A gate valve is also known as sluice valve and it is mostly used for both above- ground and underground installation. It performs it operation doing a clockwise to close CTC or clockwise to open CTO rotating motion of the stem. Gate valves are also used when minimum pressure loss and a free bore is needed.

  6. Globe Valves:

Globe valves are used for regulating the flow in the pipeline and for throttling flow control. There is a flow direction arrow marked on the valve body and it must be installed according to it. Pressure classes of globe valve include 150 through 1500.

  7. Pressure Reducing Valves:

As the name tells, pressure reducing valves reduce the pressure of a fluid. It controls the downstream pressure or outlet of the fluid. It is an open, 2 ways valve which ensures the pressure of the fluid until the desired pressure is reached downstream.

These valves are used in many different appliances, systems, and common items inside the house, industries. Industrial valves are of various types such as Gate Valves, Globe Valves, Ball Valves, Butterfly Valves, Check Valves, Pressure Valves, and Diaphragm Valves, etc. SKG Pneumatics Inc, are leading suppliers of Industrial Valves and Equipment, based in Delhi.
